Santa Monica

Mood: Pathetic
Playing: All Again For You-We the Kings
High school is making me feel really cruddy. I'm not sure why I even go back. I'm waking up a lot earlier than I did before and the teachers make me feel so stupid. When you ask questions, they reply with, "It's on my course syllabus. Go check." When they ask questions and I give the wrong answers, they say, "You're not thinking on a high enough level for an honors student." Lacrosse is killing me. We ran for an hour, doing laps, sprinting, and catching lines. By the end of practice, my head hurt and I felt lightheaded. My friend, Sasha, said she felt like she was going to puke. I hope she doesn't mind that I put that information on my blog. On the bright side, my brother came home for Labor Day weekend, so my family took a road trip to Santa Monica Pier! I haven't been there for years and years! The first thing we did? WE ATE OF COURSE! We found this British Pub place and ate there because I love Britain and British people...I got a Steak and Ale Pie and it tasted pretty good, but it was super filling!
We headed down to the pier and guess who I saw there? I saw Domos! Tons and tons of Domos! I wanted to try and play for win, but it was super expensive! My brother and I were going to try and win one, but all the people playing in this round were little kids. It would look really bad, if we went and beat them! I thought Domo was just an Asian thing, but I guess not?
Here's a picture of Santa Monica pier. Isn't it so pretty and fun with all the colors? I saw a few sea lions there and of course, there were tons of fishermen! All the fish they were catching were itty bitty fish!
I went to a place called Angelato Cafe, which sells gelato and some food. They had so many flavors of gelato! I decided not to get my favorite flavors, which I can get much closer to home. My friend, Maggie, was going through my camera and found these pictures of gelato. She was all like, "THIS LOOKS SO TASTY!" She loves desserts, as much as I do! I thought it was kind of lame that they only allowed 3 samples per customer, but I understand why they do that. Otherwise, people would take a sample of every flavor! There were at least 4 more gelato pictures to be taken!
I got Custard and Cherries with Vanilla and Blackcurrant! The Vanilla and Blackcurrant flavor was much better. I had a hard time choosing only two flavors, so I got something that sounded tasty and hard to find. Blackcurrant things aren't that common, where I live, and I love blackcurrant things like Chew-Its! I was under the impression that I was sharing this with my family, but none of them wanted any, so it was way too much! Well, that's it for now! I still need to do my gifts post! So much to do and so much homework stopping me from doing it.

By the way Rebecca's letter cheered me up today. I love getting snail mail.

First Day of School and Ideas

Mood: Disappointed
Playing: Take My Hand-The Perfect Measure
Rip Rip had his first day at school a week ago and I had mine today. If you don't want to read about my problems, skip to the next paragraph! I think Rip Rip's might have gone better than mine. I was looking forward to going off campus, but apparently, if you were wearing white, you got a water balloon tossed at you from the seniors. I was wearing a white V-neck, so I ate on campus. I'm fairly unhappy that I don't have many classes with my good friends in them, but I do have at least one friend in every class. Lacrosse and science look like they're going to be the hardest classes. I like lacrosse, but I've never been any good at athletics, so I'm not sure if taking lacrosse, was the the best idea on my part. The part about lacrosse that seems hard is getting there on time. I need to run from English to the coach's English room to grab my clothes and lacrosse gear. Then I must run to the boys' locker room to get changed. (The girls' locker room is under construction, so the girls took over the boys' locker room.) Then after that I must run to a park off campus for the actual lacrosse training. I'm not sure how long that will take me...I was also looking forward to seeing many of my friends that I haven't seen for a long time like Alyssa, Hoho, and Matthew. I didn't really see them for that long. When I saw Hoho, he wanted to give me a hug, which was awkward because I had all these friends with me.
I want to start on a topic that is a tad more interesting. I have been into designing clothes for a very long time, but lately I have been into high end fashion a lot. Most of my summer was spent reading Vogue, Elle, People:Style Watch, Pinky(Which I look at, since I can't read Japanese), and other random Japanese magazines. I'm thinking about cutting out looks from different magazines and keeping them in a box. I'll cut out pictures of outfits that I like, that way if I ever do launch my own line, I know what I like and what interests me. (I know that I'll probably get a more practical job, than dealing with fashion, but we can all dream right?) Think of it as an inspiration of some sort, even a place that can help me decide where I would like to take my style. I want to try dressing better, instead of the normal jeans and a t-shirt look. I think that, if I were to keep this box filled with interesting looks, I could try and make myself dress better? I don't know. What do you think?

P.S. I wore my American Apparel bow, from the last post, and I got tons of compliments. I'm thinking of getting more, but they're so expensive!

End of Summer Shopping

Mood: Nervous
Playing: Summer Love-We the Kings
I've been shopping quite a bit this summer. I'm replacing all the clothing I either outgrew or they're completely worn out. I had all my camisoles go from being below the hips to being midriffs. I've had a lot of my clothing for 3-4 years, so they're outdated or too small. I have this problem, where I keep telling myself that I can still squeeze into the shirt, even though I can't, so I hold onto it for awhile longer.
The white shirt from Haleiwa Hawaii is a gift from my friend, Alicia. She brought it back from Hawaii for me. It's so soft and cuddly and cute! The blue tofu pillow shirt is from this random Japanese store and it was pretty cheap for a super soft shirt. Both of these shirts are pretty darn soft, now that I think about it.
The sailor shirt looked navy in the shop, but as soon as I brought it out at home, I realized it was black. Stupid lighting in the store tricked me...Oh well, it's still cute right? I just can't pair it up with the skirt I bought last year. Any suggestions for what to wear with it? I'm thinking a red skirt or shorts...I can try white instead of red, but red seems like more fun. White is easier to wear with other things, though. The sweater was originally $20, but I got 10% off because there was a small makeup stain on the back. I'm glad that my mum noticed the little stain...I got it because it looks like a Sweet Lolita sweater, but it still looks wearable without the whole Lolita outfit.
I went shopping at American Apparel because I heard it was going out of business. All the clothing fit me awkwardly, but they had Usamimis and cute hair bows! I also bought new camisoles and jeans at Pac Sun, but I won't be posting pictures of those because it's nothing exciting. On the bright side, I can finally fit into the extremely skinny jeans instead of just super skinny jeans! Have you bought anything exciting this summer? Like a panini press for instance?
