Two Birthdays, One Day

Playing: Everything Will Be Alright-The Killers
Reading: Cannery Row by John Steinbeck (Again!)
Left to Right: Maggie, Vivian, and Tina
On July 27th right before the Olympics, I went to celebrate both Maggie's and Tiffany's birthdays at Gen, an all you can eat Korean BBQ restaurant, along with Vivian and Tina. No Asian meetup is complete without tons of photos, right? Sorry whenever I hang out with a lot of Asian friends, I tend to make Asian jokes with them.
Such as when we all pulled out our cameras and cellphones to take photos of our food! How stereotypically Asian of us, huh? I found this tumblr called Pictures of Asians Taking Pictures of Food through Coffee Creek, so you should go check that out. It's really pretty funny. Gen had a wide selection of different meats to choose from and tons of side dishes, but I didn't like how most of the meat wasn't marinated like the meat at other Korean BBQ places. You kind of had to flavor the meat yourself using the various sauces they left for you. I did like how they offered a plate of vegetables to grill, since it helped break up the serious meat consumption.
Tina and I, despite us acting like the babies of the group, took charge and cooked for everybody. Since we were busy cooking for everyone else, a lot of the time, we got last choice and ended up eating not as much. What self sacrificing beings we are, cooking for everyone else. Hire the two of us for your next dinner party! The five of us still ended up eating twenty-three plates of food with only two plates of those being grilled veggies.
Left to Right: Maggie and Tiffany
After eating, the two of them opened up their presents and here are the two birthday girls. Maggie is posing here with her gift from Tiffany with Tiffany. Isn't it funny how the two of them are color coordinated too? Peach, camel, and white for both of them!
Tiffany got Maggie a Polaroid camera, which makes my Polaroid camera from the 1970's look excessively bulky. All of us went a bit crazy with the camera and took photos of everything. Luckily, Maggie was nice and let each one of us keep one of the group photographs to take home. If you zoom up on this picture, you can probably see me standing on my tippy toes. No way will I be the shortest one. I'll leave that duty for Tina.
While they were shopping around in Charlotte Rousse, I came across this pair of earrings. How interesting the way algebra works in retail stores. The more you buy, the more expensive each pair of earrings gets. That will definitely prompt me to buy more, while I'm there. (Sarcasm intended.)
I ended up leaving earlier than the rest because I needed to rush home to watch the opening ceremony for the London Olympics. By the way, how amazing was it? I liked how London mixed in their pop culture into the show with James Bond, Voldemort, Mary Poppins, The Beatles, The Arctic Monkeys, and of course, Rowan Atkinson. Rowan's bit was my favorite because it was something anyone in the world could laugh at, regardless of language and age. Anyways, back to the point. I have some seriously sick family members. My mum thought it would be funny to hang my Sentimental Circus bunny, Shappo, on a door. What is wrong with my family?
What was your favorite scene from the opening ceremony? (And I know I'm late, so you can do closing ceremony too.)

"No, You Can't Go On This Road."

Mood: Depressed
Playing: Nothing Currently
I've spent my whole weekend doing schoolwork. Everything from Geometry to Biology to History Day. It's really not that fun at all...To take a break from it all, I decided, "It's time for a post!" These photos are from December 26, the day I saw the most epic flood ever.
Of course, I had Megumi in the car with me. I'm just that amazing that I always have a cute plushie and my camera, so I can take pictures for a plushie story, whenever, where ever. This is the first time I've seen a flood, so I had to go check it out!
Look at that building that's under water! That's at least a 10 feet tall building. I thought it would be cool to stand on top of the building...
Here's Megumi standing by the flooded area. In the background, you can still see some of the buildings and the ramps...
Look how far the water goes...You can even see the yellow road lines slowly start to disappear. I wanted to go home and grab the kayak, so I could go kayaking on this. Wouldn't that be interesting? Just kayak around and see the buildings that are underwater. This was the road we were supposed to take to get to our destination...
Just a picture to show you how high up the water goes. You can see that the water is almost swallowing the sign. This is the type of stuff you see on TV, when watching the news. I hope you found this post somewhat interesting. If not, let me tell you something truly inspiring. Apl.de.ap. from the Black Eyed Peas is legally blind. Even with contacts in, his prescription is around-11. When he was growing up in the Philippines, people told him he wasn't going anywhere because he couldn't see. When he was little, he wanted to be a nurse, until a teacher told him he would never be able to become one. Even with so much stopping him, he is still able to be so successful and do so much. I think it's truly amazing what he's done with his life, don't you?
Have you ever had a flood before? What do you think of Apl.de.ap and what he's done with his life?

Feeding the Ducks With My New Buddy

Mood: Apathetic
Playing: Shadow of the Day-Linkin Park
I went to go feed the ducks some bread and tortillas over the break. It was extraordinarily chilly, but not as cold as today. It was only 41 degrees today, which is super cold for California. There was crisp white frost on my lawn and roof. I don't remember ever seeing that before. I remember one time, when I was little (I believe 2nd grade?), we would exhale and we could see our breath. Back to the point, I brought one of my new Rilakkumas and some of his friends along to help feed the ducks.
Here are a bunch of the ducks and quite a few Canadian geese were there too! In the corner, you can see my blue Pickles the Frog, whom I named William.
There are a few ducks there, who have these super cute pastel blue beaks. They're a lot calmer in nature than the other ducks and I find them adorable.
Sergeant Chicky Poo fed the ducks some tortilla pieces. My dad came up with the Chicky Poo part and I came up with the Sergeant part to toughen him up! One time I accidentally called him Sergeant Pepper...Please excuse my Beatles reference.
This picture was mostly to show off my new Rilakkuma and an onigiri plushie that I made. His name is Frank.
At the end of the day, I realized that I had been a complete and total rebel. In fact, no duck feeding was to be allowed at that park. Luckily, I didn't get caught so it's ok. I enjoyed the crisp clean autumn weather and made a few ducks very pleased.
What do you like to do in your free time?

Megumi Wants to be a Blog Hoarder

Mood: Tired
Playing: I Don't Love You-My Chemical Romance
Yesterday, in lacrosse, we ran 2 1/2 miles and then we did 40 hill sit-ups. Hill sit ups are where you lie on a hill with your head at the bottom and the feet towards the top and then you continue doing sit ups normally. It hurts like crazy. Then today, coach didn't show up, so one of the team captains coached us. She made us do all sorts of different drills and ab workouts, including push up planks, which are painful and too hard to explain...By the way, this post was written a long time ago from around Halloween time, so excuse me, if this seems terribly outdated.
Megumu, my little Rilakkuma, was being a camera hoarder, much like my friend, Maggie. The two of them have something in common, both love to take photos of themselves! Haha, here are some photos that Megumi demanded for me to put online from I think two different days?
I went to an Taiwanese style restaurant and ordered Apple Green Tea. Megumi immediately stole it from me! She may look cute and innocent, but she isn't!
After she got a firm grip on my drink, she ended up eating my lunch too, forcing me to order more food for myself! I hope she enjoyed my noodles and soup!
When it was time for me to toss the Megumi pumpkin, Megumi almost cried because she loved it that much! I almost felt bad about tossing it, until I remembered that she had stolen my dinner! Megumi isn't to be trusted. On a side note, I blame the internet for my horrible eyesight. My eyesight is getting worse and it's probably because I spend too much time online, commenting on blogs and stuff like that. I'll blame it on email and blogging!
Do you have to wear glasses? If so, is it 24/7 or is it only in class?

Louis and Pluck Pluck Take San Fran!

Mood: Anxious
Playing: Last Straw-Jack's Mannequin
Do you get the title? Do you see how clever it is? If you don't, then you don't know the Kardashians! Oh, what lame jokes and references my brain comes up with, when the weather is rainy!
So for my weekend in Berkeley, Louis and Pluck Pluck jumped in my purse for a fun adventure!
While waiting around for the rental car, Louis and Pluck Pluck decided they wanted to walk around and ended up sitting on my brother's saxophone case.
Louis was playing around in the hotel room and he surprised me by hiding in one of the coffee cups! That would be a cute gift idea, huh?
Pluck Pluck and Louis got into a fight with a stone lion on the UC Berkeley campus! Makes you wonder what they did...
The two of them went to a Japanese Garden in San Francisco and had so much fun!
They decided that this was one of their favorite spots that we had visited and demanded many pictures.
If you headed towards the back of the garden, you found this beautiful pond that Louis wanted to swim in.
This bridge was much fun for Pluck Pluck and Louis to climb. Louis made it down for a picture, but I had to climb up to save Pluck Pluck. He was very embarrassed!
Please excuse the jacket in this photo. If it wasn't there, then the faces of Louis and Rip Rip wouldn't show up because it was way too bright! I didn't notice the jacket got into the photo until I got home...
On the next day, we went to the Berkeley gardens up in the mountain-ish area. Louis and Pluck Pluck wanted more photos of themselves online and wanted a whole photo shoot!
There was another Japanese garden at the Berkeley one, so needless to say, it was their favorite!
There's this little strap on my mum's coat that I used to carry Louis around for a bit. I thought it looked rather cute!
On the ride back home, Louis and Pluck Pluck saw me taking out the camera to take a picture of the pastel sky and they begged me to take a picture of them! Someone was giving me weird looks, while I was doing this. On the plane, I got a massive headache for some reason. Does anything weird happen to you on the plane like headaches, motion sickness, or just feeling generally gross?

Rip Rip is Kind of Liking College

Mood: Worried
Playing:Daydream-One Night Only
Yay, for a real post! Hopefully, you will like this, since I skimped on my homework quality to do this. I'm also skimping on my History Day and Craft Fair work to do this, so you better like this! Haha, sorry for trying to guilt you into liking this post!
Rip Rip was so happy to get a visit from Pluck Pluck, his Mini Me, over the weekend.
Rip Rip immediately put Pluck Pluck to work cleaning my brother's and my brother's roommates' dishes! How dare they put these two cuties to work! Don't you love how their dishes are the throw away kind, but they keep on reusing them? Yay, for saving money!
Here the two of them are sitting upon the cereal and soda stack. When I go to college, I hope I don't drink that much soda! Mostly because soda makes me feel rather ill...
While Rip Rip was showing Pluck Pluck around the dorm room, they stumbled past this antique-looking Chinese lamp.
You might remember how Rip Rip enjoyed playing the guitar(click here, if you don't!), but he is now trying to learn how to play the drums!
Rip Rip went and visited the hotel I was staying at and loved how beautiful the marina looked. He used to love boating, until his motion sickness started to act up...
A little bit before the trip to San Francisco and Berkeley, Rip Rip took part in a political rally. You can see the police keeping him out!
By the way, Starry Eyed Bowtique and Hawaii Kawaii are hosting a giveaway with super Harajuku bows as the prize. You ought to go check it out and enter! If you're interested in it, click here! Also, Rebecca showed me this website called LOOKBOOK and I really enjoy looking at the styles, especially Nigel L's photos.

Rip Rip's College Adventures!

Mood: Miserable
Playing: Say You Don't Want It-One Night Only
I've really been into British bands at the moment...I'm still listening to lots of Andrew McMahon music. At the moment, I have Say You Don't Want It stuck in my mind. In class, I had, "The big screens, the plastic-made dreams. Say you don't want it, say you don't want it!" stuck in my head. Today, it rained a bit, but I still had lacrosse practice. During practice, my shoes got soaked through and I was freezing...I also had some other bad things go on today. As you can see, my day wasn't exciting, so I wanted to do a Rip Rip post. These are all pictures my brother took for you guys!
Like all universities, there's a lot of studying involved. Too bad, Rip Rip couldn't get out of it. I think his studying goes better than mine. The information flows right out of my brain, so I can't remember important things.
Rip Rip went on a walk at night. See those two glowing dots in the middle? Those are raccoon eyes! His friend got scared, so they had to leave right then and there.
Rip Rip needed some energy after his tiring exam, so he decided to get an energy drink!
Rip Rip decided to widen his music interests and went to a Far East Movement concert. He liked it very much!
Rip Rip had to do my bother's laundry for some reason. Rip Rip wasn't happy about it at all! Don't let that smile fool you!
He was so stressed out about the exams and the laundry, that he tried to hang himself. Then he realized he has no neck to hang from, so he got down feeling rather silly.
While Rip Rip was walking around, he came across some abandoned animals. He felt rather bad for them, but then he realized they were just hobos...
Rip Rip made a new friend! I believe her name is Esther, but I can't be 100% sure about that...
Apple decided to go and visit Rip Rip up at college. Apple couldn't get into Rip Rip's college(BECAUSE HE NEVER STUDIED), so he's going to a community college.  After a few days of Apple's visit, Rip Rip decided he had enough of Apple and sent him home. Did I forget to mention that Apple broke Rip Rip's lab top?
If you want to read more things about Rip Rip, click here and here! Also, check out kaizokumousy's short story! I think it's super cute! Hope you liked my short story, as in very short! Let's see, I'm thinking of starting a question of the day for my blog...
What's your favorite funny, random quote?
Mine is from a friend of mine named Jessica. "I laugh at my own jokes because I'm fucking hilarious!" Sorry for the cussing, if it offended you. I usually don't put cussing on my blog, unless I think it's important.
